After attending my first Janice DeMello seminar in Alaska
in 1995, I knew I wanted a Hob Nob border collie. I was amazed at their
relationship with Janice, and their will to work and to please. While living in
the panhandle of Florida, I had several opportunities to watch Wendy Pape's Surf
running in Agility. I was so impressed by this handsome, amazing dog, that I
then knew I wanted a Scheme puppy! Many military moves, and rescue Border
collies later, the timing was right for me to get a Hob Nob puppy from Janice.
We had finally settled in Las Vegas, and I had room and time for another
addition to train. Imagine how excited I was to find out Swizzle had been bred
to Scheme and there were puppies on the way!!! That had to be the world’s
longest gestation. It seemed like I waited forever. Once the “six-pack” were on
the ground, days were spent looking at weights and pictures on the website,
loving them all and wondering which would be mine…Well, I got the best puppy of
that litter, or of any litter- Hob Nob Perfect Copy-“Ditto”, so named because he
looks just like his father, Scheme.
Ditto
is everything I asked for and more. Janice added lots more options to this dog
than I knew were available! He is smart, handsome, and sweet and will do
anything I ask with gusto. From a nap at my feet, to playing ball, to diving
into the pool for hours on end, herding our sheep, running agility, scaring away
peacocks, Ditto is always ready for action.
I can’t thank Janice enough for sending me this party in a black and white suit. I am awed by the dogs she breeds, and honored to own and love one like Ditto. MaryKay Grahn, NV
